A photoshoot of bright colours
Hello lovelies,
I have been avoiding this photo shoot for ages. Why? Well my idea of a photo shoot seems like such a mission! All that makeup and dressing prep makes me anxious. What to wear? How to do my hair? Who is going to do my makeup? Etc. But it has been over a year since I had photos taken, so I needed to be brave and just do it!
My friends and are the perfect team. Carlin is a fashion blogger - see superficialgirls - and Mike is a photographer getting up to all sort of rad things on Instagram. You can check his main profile out . I thought they'd be wonderful for this shoot as they're super casual and fun to be around.
Mike suggested that we shoot at Bo Kaap which is a well known area in Cape Town formally known as the Malay Quarter. It's famous for photographers because of the rich culture and of course the bright colours. Every house is painted a bright or pastel colour. It's so pretty!
The shoot ended up being completely painless. We had such a fun time. There was lots of playing with props, squeezing into high heels and laughing at the onlookers... And of course some funky pictures were taken! So watch this space for the final edits.
Anyway, now that the lovely shoot is over, I can tell you what I wore and what makeup I used. Such fun!
The lovely who works at MAC did my make up. She is such a fabulous person and of course we made friends instantly. She is so good at makeup. I asked her if she'd be in one of my upcoming videos and she agreed. #Besties
I'd like to share the essentials that were used on my makeup today. We went for a really natural look, so if you're looking to buy some everyday wear makeup, I suggest these three products...
Once you've finished your makeup look for the day, spray on some S Fix + (I bought the 'size to go' one) for that incredible finish! Ready SET go ;)

I needed a new foundation. I've gotta wear something on my face each day cos of scarring so I got some Studio Fix Fluid
Now this is something I'm so happy I finally bought. Thanks Zoella for introducing us all to the Shell Frost Cream Colour Base. Now I can have that nice shiny finish. Great for my videos!
Right so with the above products, a handful of others and a kick ass make up artist I ended up looking like this... Please excuse the awkward angle on the before pic! LOL
Clothes
I am such a last minuter when it comes to stuff like this so I ended up buying all of my items from Zara yesterday. Luckily there was a sale on! I went with light items to go with the colour of Bo Kaap and because I am leaving for London next week. Bring on summer!
Here's some info on the items I wore. Oh and I added in what Carlin wore too, cos she looked fab.
Lastly I'd just like to say a BIG thank you to the beautiful people involved in helping me today. I'd also like to send a shout out to my car ( who I call Thomas), thank you for acting as a change room!
Lots of love,
Theo
P.S. Let me know in a comment below what you think of the items listed!
P.P.S. I have a new website launching soon! I AM SO EXCITED!
