DIY Makeup Essentials
Hello lovelies,
When Beauty Gurus show me their makeup must haves, I usually convince myself to buy the lot. I'm sure you may fall in this trap too. We spend lots on looking pretty. From lotions to eyeshadows, nails and hair, every part of us can be improved. And then at bedtime, we wipe it all away. I'm not trying to dampen the therapeutic ritual of getting ready, I think it's marvellous what a bit of mascara can do, but there are ways to look and feel great without having to buy the latest product on the shelf.
In today's blogpost, I am going to show you how to make your own makeup basics. Making stuff at home is fun and might save pocket money. Whether you make these for you or a friend, you'll only spend about $40, depending on what brand of products you choose.
Lets start with the Homemade Primer
This primer uses a combination of your everyday products and some natural products. You'll notice how fresh your skin will feel when using this primer compared to a regular one, probably because of the Vitamin E oil.
You will need:
You may play around with the measurements depending on how much primer you want to make
Instructions:
Add 3 tablespoons of moisturiser and 3 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel into mixing bowl
Add 1/2 teaspoon of foundation
Add 1 tablespoon of toner
Add 1/2 teaspoon of Vit E oil
Mix and pour into empty container!
BB Cream
I love BB cream for everyday coverage. In this BB cream recipe, I have added a natural face serum which promotes healthy and happy skin.
You will need:
For the face serum:
For the cream:
Instructions:
Mix 5ml carrier oil with 2 drops of essential oil
Add your own amount of foundation
Add all the other ingredients so that the substance is half foundation, half everything else
Pour into your container!
Cream Eyeshadow
I have so many redundant eyeshadows lying at the bottom of my makeup kit. But now I've found a way to use them again. This recipe is super easy and really fun to make... You'll see why!
You will need:
Instructions:
Light the candle
Scoop some vaseline onto your spoon - about half the spoon
Scoop eyeshadow to fill the spoon
Hold over candle
Wait for the mixture to melt into each other
Pour into a container
Put in freezer for 5 minutes
Ready for the eyes!
Setting Spray
There's nothing quite like that feeling when you've finished your makeup and there's no better way to set it than with a freshening spray! Here's a quick recipe that works wonders.
You will need:
Spray bottle filled with 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup rose water
1 tablespoon toner
1 teaspoons glycerine
3-5 drops of tea tree oil
Instructions
Just mix everything together!
And then you might get overexcited like me and decorate them into your own little homemade range of makeups!
Thanks for letting me share this with you. Please leave a comment below. I'd love to hear from you!
